Crafting Recipe for "Walkie Talkie" Item

I would like to suggest the idea to add a dedicated item for the functionality.
Functionality

• With this radio the push to talk functionality could for example be implemented via right-click while holding the item.

Crafting

• For newer vanilla versions, the echo shard could be used with a clock-like crafting recipe:
  
• For older versions the eye of ender or something like nether quartz could replace the missing echo shard.

Problems

• Point of discussion probably is, how such an item would fit in with vanilla gameplay.
• However, for other situations like in combination with the Create-Mod I believe such an item could fit in flawlessly, as the concept of wireless communication is already present.

What are your opinions on this?

Sorry I don't really understand why you are suggesting a dedicated item, and meaning of item fitting in vanilla gameplay. (or create mod)
btw I can add a crafting recipe to existing item "Walkie Talkie".

I apologize, I didn't completely understand the description of the mod, so I thought there was no item. Please discard my comment on this.

By fitting in vanilla gameplay I mean, that in my opinion it would be nicer, if the "Walkie Talkie" item would fit more into the vanilla "style" meaning maybe a simpler item look. But i suppose this could simply be changed with a resource pack.
The create-mod is currently gaining popularity even more as some Minecrafters from the popular Hermitcraft-Server are playing together (using Simple Voice Chat). Hence my comment on this.

Yes, I think that would be great, as it would increase the usability for survival servers without the need for the admin to give the players the existing item. I think this would also fit in very nicely with the "normal" minecraft progression, if that is something players want. By that I mean, in early game players could then only talk when close to each other, but when they have gathered the necessary resources they can craft and use the "Walkie Talkie" to talk over great distances :)

Hmm okay. I'll add crafting recipe in future version
In my opinion to combination with create mod, "Walkie Talkie" is just a item so there's no such thing to add features in my mod for the compatibility to other mods.
If you still want some features related to create mod and this mod, please give an example.
