CentOS 79 is EOL end of June 2024, and some critical components are event not patched in the centos mirrors.
Open OnDemand 3.1 will drop support for CentOS 79 https://discourse.openondemand.org/t/3-1-will-drop-support-for-el7/3087/10 , and azhop being mostly based on it means we will have to drop CentOS 79.
AlmaLinux 8.7 is now supported end to end for infra VMs, compute and desktop nodes, and will be the prefered OS release too use instead of CentOS 79.
