Exporting saves while in a proxy DOES NOT work =(

So I have been having a blast playing FF1 and 2 Dawn Of Souls (GBA) on my chromebook at school on a proxy BUT since I have to proxy hop every now and then, I lose all my data. I would just export my save every now and then and import it back BUT exporting saves doesn't work while in a proxy. Can this please be fixed? If not, could you please suggest alternative ways to keep my save?

EDIT: I don't think its a proxy or chromebook thing either because I literally downloaded the ROM while on the proxy...
