While there is a fittings plan to deploy a cluster of ceph nodes, there are still some gaps to achieve a ready-to-use private S3-compatible object storage service. at least:

  • add 1 TB economy storage to ceph nodes with dedicated mount at OSD nodes
  • add a S3 gateway to the cluster

as an alternative, you can now use the EMC ECS one node deployment and enjoy S3-API and Swift-API
