[BUG] TV powers on, but not off #252
Comments
Hi, From the log it looks like the PC cannot communicate with the TV, due to the TV being on a subnet different from the PC. If possible try to put them on the same subnet, otherwise configure the router to allow communication between the subnets |
Hi @LijMeh any feedback on the above? |
Hi JPersson77, I have the same issue of the TV turning on successfully when the pc turns on, but it doesn't turn off when the PC turns off which is arguably more important. When you talk about subnet -> does this mean guest wifi, or perhaps mesh wifi? I have 3 mesh decos so even though my pc and tv (monitor) are in the same room maybe they're connecting to different routers and that's the issue that's happening here? How do I find the logs to post here? |
Hi @BloodyNoses a subnet is a range of IP-addresses which together form a local area network. On a physical network many subnets can exist, providing separation between the individual subnets. The issue @LijMeh have/had is a network communications failure between the PC and TV, potentially because the PC and TV is on different subnets. Further troubleshooting is needed to resolve, unless it was already resolved. The logging function can be enabled in the global options, please enable debug level logging. The log is then saved to c:/programdata/lgtv companion/log.txt . If the TV can be turned ON but not OFF by the app some typical reasons include:

How to reproduce the bug?
Attempting to use "Turn Off" or "Test" both fail to turn off the TV.
What was the expected behavior
TV should turn off.
What is your system?
Windows 11 22631.4317. LGTVcompanion v4.0.5
