Opening SMS text messages on lock screen should open in default SMS app

What is this about?

The lock screen shows an icon if a new text message arrives. Pulling this icon to the lock symbol in the bottom opens this text message in the messaging app.

What is the issue?

The message doesn't get opened in the default messaging app but in the built in system app.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Install messaging app (e.g. Google Hangout, Facebook messenger, etc).
2. Set this messaging app as default handler for SMS messages.
3. Receive text message.
4. Go to lock screen.
5. Pull messaging icon to lock symbol.

What should happen?

New text message gets opened in default messaging app.

What actually happens

New text message gets opened in built in system messaging app.
