Comments and Documentation

A lot of the code is not only undocumented, but barely commented either.

While obviously detailed docs are not a priority with the deadline looming, Some basic comments and landmarks would go a long way to easing understanding of the code among the team

(And yes, I realise I'm as guilty of this as anyone)
