To meet the training requirements, " 'Conflicts of Interest in Human Subjects
Research' and 'Research and HIPAA Privacy Protections' modules," is it sufficient to take the following? from CITI?

Information Privacy and Security (IPS) - Information Privacy and Security (IPS) (ID 109937)

Conflicts of Interest (COI) - Conflicts of Interest (ID 109944)

Hi,

It's highly encouraged to become an MIT affiliate and take the MIT affiliation module. It's difficult to gauge what is being taught in the IPS course you list, I'm not sure if it matches our standards or not. I would encourage following the directions on https://physionet.org/about/citi-course/ to ensure you complete all the necessary training requirements.

Also - if I show a detailed copy of my completion report including the details of the modules, will that suffice to prove whether my modules are comparable in content? CITI tells me a detailed completion report will tell you the module content. I can submit that once I complete?

How can I become an affiliate of MIT? The site does not seem to let me do that.

In order to become an affiliate, you need to search 'Massachusetts Institute of Technology Affiliates' under 'Add an affiliation' on your account page. You will then register from there

Yes, a detailed report is preferred so that we can check the course content to compare it to what we look for. The two courses that are of highest importance is Conflicts of Interest and HIPAA Privacy Protections.

I recently received an email saying my request for data access wasn't approved. But I did complete and upload my training completion report, done as an MIT affiliate?

Are you referring to the training report or the credential application? There's two separate applications. The credential report is a way to identify your identity. The training report is solely the CITI training. Can you please let me know which application was declined?

It was the training that was rejected. I am copying the text of the email from 5/31:

Thank you for submitting your "CITI Data or Specimens Only Research"
documentation to PhysioNet. Your training was not approved. This may
be for the following reason(s):

Please follow the instructions on this page:
https://physionet.org/about/citi-course/
. You must complete both the 'Conflicts of Interest in Human Subjects
Research' and 'Research and HIPAA Privacy Protections' modules.

Can you please send an email to [email protected] with your username? This way we can further investigate. Should be able to resolve this easily.
