Next folder or next playlist from GPIO button?

My music is split into 10 folders and I have a rotary encoder currently set up to go to the next track / previous track in a playlist.

I can start a folder from the webplayer, but I'd like to be able to start playlists from a button instead so that I don't have to keep opening the webplayer.

Is there a way to set up a button or a rotary encoder to move to the next folder or playlist? I know this can be done with RFID cards, but I'd love to just have a button that skips to the next folder/playlist in order.
