Convert markdown \n* (more then two) to <br><br> or empty <p>

If I input something like 'test\n\n\n\ntest\n' as the default value, the rendered output removes all spaces between p tags (empty p removed). I want users to be able to add a blank line between paragraphs. Is this possible? Seems it has to do with input parsing, since output is correct (on listener change).
