Mac support #477

I would like to add my vote to this topic. I want to teach classroom students all the steps of protein ID. Once I have mzMLs, I can search 'em in MSFragger in any operating system that supports Java, but students with Apple laptops cannot use the Philosopher tools. How big a lift is necessary to add Mac support to Philosopher? |

Hi David, the problem is not Philosopher itself, really, but the TPP tools in there, most notably ProteinProphet. We either have to replace those tools with something else or find a way to get Mac executables. I am not sure what is more likely to happen, but yes we should have some discussions internally. Unfortunately there is no quick fix. |

Hello, it looks like a lot of the philosopher components are very portable. Looking at the source code, only Windows and Linux are supported. I am a Mac user. Would you be interested in trying to add Mac support (even if it is only partial/for advanced users, as in not fully supported?)
