It seems that it's not possible to run simulations with box size > ~1250.
I was running a simulation setting the box size = 1250 without issues.
I doubled the computer resources, CPU and available memory, and tried to run this simulation with a box size of 1300 and got this error after intitialization:
"Malloc failed! Crashed! Probably run out of memory."
