My GPU fans connected easily but not the tower fans #2910
Comments
A remote? Through a hub? Hard to say exactly how that works out or how it feeds from the motherboard header. I would probably leave said remote at "max"/12V if it controls DC voltage. |
Yes. There is a fan control hub on the back plate of the case. The hub tells 1 fan what to do and they all do that. Any idea of how I can bypass that? I really hate this remote. Thanks for the speedy reply! |
The only reason I am trying to get this to work is that the remote doesn't control my gpu.. Those are running straight into the motherboard. So the tower fans are manual and the gpu fans are auto.. That's why I wanted to get your software to work so bad! I didn't know the tower fans would be remote controlled when I bought this |
Have you considered plugging your fans directly onto motherboard headers instead? From the look of it you got 4 potential channels. |
I would like to try that if I can! Any idea what they would plug into? If I could locate that and know which ones are essential to move, I can give it a go |
4 pin headers, usually labeled sys_1 or sysfan, something like that. |
Thank you! I will check that when I get home today! |
So I messed with this quite a bit today and I couldn't really get it to function properly. On the manufacturers website for the rgb controller, they said I could replace the cpu fan plug cable (which was currently a wire from the sensor on the cpu itself- label 1) with the fp cord from the controller, it would work. Well it didn't. All the sudden my system upon startup was reading 100+c and the fans were spinning at full speed. I also tried to connect the fp cord into the sys fan (label 2) and sys fan 1 slot and the fans would intermittently shut off completely. This made me think the controller wasn't letting the system take over fully. I'm not sure that this fan and controller set were meant to be connected with my motherboard... if it is then I'm just missing the technical skills to make it happen, sadly. Kinda stuck. I'm just gonna have to learn more about this stuff until I get it! |
Hi! I'm not very savy with computers but I'll try to explain the best I can! So I initially ran the file and when your program was testing my fans, they all responded! At the end of the calibration test, it said 3 of the 4 fans were not detectible. I'm assuming that's because they are all wired together because they all were adjusting during calibration! Once I got the curve values set and allocated the curves to the fans, only the GPU responds. I tried to force override the tower fans but they still didn't respond. My fans have a remote that controls their speed and I'm guessing that the remote is not allowing the software to take over. Any ideas on what I can try to get it to override the remote?
I didn't see any log files in the fan control folder but I'll share a screenshot. Let me know if there is anything I can do or more I can share! I'd be happy to donate to your creation if I can get it working!
