Version Information
Please complete the following information:
OS: macOs 14.1.1
SEB Version: 3.3.2
Additional Context
I contacted moziila's dev team about this and I got to know that
"The log shows that SEB tries to restart the killed process, but restarting the Firefox content/tab process externally is not possible. SEB should be updated or configured to not kill plugin-container. Firefox works differently than Safari with respect to networking processes. If we can learn about how SEB works or how it can be configured, we might be able to avoid this." Is this something, which will be handled from seb' end or from mozilla end?
The text was updated successfully, but these errors were encountered:
SEB needs to kill the process plugin-container to prevent screen sharing or video conferencing to be used with Firefox.
The other option is to kill Firefox completely. I didn't prefer this originally, because users might loose open tabs or data entered in open webpages.
If Mozilla has another idea how SEB could stop users from using video/audio conferencing and screen sharing in Firefox while SEB is running, I would be happy for any input.
SEB 3.4 for macOS doesn't automatically restart (non-UI) processes on quitting, which it has terminated during an exam. I expect that this issue with Firefox therefore isn't happening anymore. Could you please verify that?
I just encountered this issue on macOS 15.2 And SEB 3.4.1 ,
I only had the configurator open (with SEB opening with option is pressed). This caused all my Firefox (Zen Browser) tabs to crash and not even a new tab page will open other than settings. I Tried Safari next and I encountered the same issue.
But at last, I tried a chromium browser I had installed (Arc) but it worked just fine. I understand the browsers being disabled while SEB is active but I couldn't reset SEB with the configurator because I couldn't view the webpage guide in the browser to do so.
