Like mentioned here and here, an external partner wants to try to setup an SCS-compliant setup on top of their proxmox infrastructure.

This issue is for a bit of a progress report as well as some documentation with regards to this work.

Had a meeting last week (before my small vacation), where we did:

  • setup underlying infrastructure for `Openstack
    • in particular 3 gateway nodes, 3 master nodes and 4 worker nodes for yaook/k8s on proxmox, since where testing this right now ourselves
  • the setup for this went flawlessly
  • the created K8s cluster is already SCS-compliant, but it will only provide the base for the IaaS-layer

I will provide some additional documentation for this later, after I fixed up the temporary repository containing these information.

Had problems with rook-ceph while installing yaook/operator (Openstack), so I tried to reinstall and had different problems which all seemed to stem from oversubscription of either RAM or CPU resources.

@cah-hbaum do I understand correctly that you want to run IaaS on top of proxmox? What i discussed with @garloff a while ago was wether it wouldn’t make sense to use proxmox for small setups (3 - 5 or so nodes) as the IaaS layer and on top of the proxmox use the Cluster-API Promox Provider (CAPMOX) to run SCS-compliant KaaS.
