.pbf or .mbtiles question

Hi,

I'm new to vector tiles and I was wondering what the format and structure that 'MapboxVectorTile' expect and support.

Can I point to a vector .mbtiles ? or do I need to point to a .pbf file ? or a folder with sub-folders containing the .pbf files ? Or this need to be hooked with a server that serve the tiles ?

You can use mbties also provided it contain pbf type. use sqlite extension to read from mbtiles.
