Stop autoplay by any interaction

Hi, so I found a nicely done snippet as a start point and edited it a bit. My approach was to stop the autoplay on any interaction (click pause, click on navigation arrow or click on navigation bullets or dragging). Example here:

The problem is I am unable to stop the autoplay on pagination click (bullet) or drag/dragging event. If I stop autoplay with pause button and click on pagination or dragging slide, the autoplay resumes to play.

Any idea how to achieve to have it stopped on any interaction? Thanks

I saw the example, and tried this:

1. Click the pause button and pause autoplay
2. Click the pagination
3. Wait for a while

And autoplay was still paused (I got the same result for drag).
My repro steps are not correct?
