Prerequisites

  • I have searched for existing issues that already report this problem.

Device

Laptop/Desktop

Device OS

MacOS

Device OS Version

Mac OS version 14.5. Start OS version 0.3.5-1. Bisq version v1.9.17

Browser

Firefox

Browser Version

127.0.2

Current Behavior

While a trade is open, Bisq allow both peers to open a window to chat. If you ar running Bisq on StartOS, once you open that chat window, you cannot close it and I have not found any solution but to restart Bisq. This is because all new Bisq windows in StartOS open occupiyng the whole screen. When you are using Bisq in other operative systems, new windows is small and they have the (x) symbol in the upper corner to close it.

Expected Behavior

The chat window shold be not full screen and should have the (x) symbol in the upper corner to allow close it.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Use Bisq on SrtartOS. 2. Accept an offer to have an open trade. 3. Choose "Portfolio" in the menu and "Open trades" in the submenu. 4. CLick on the chat symbol on the right end of the trade line. 5. You will not find how to close that window.

Anything else?

Yes, I have. Escape is not closing the chat window. And the chat window occupy the whole Bisq window, so I cannot do anything else, but restarting Bisq.

I would like to ask you an off topic question. How can I do the restore of that back up on my Start9? To restore from a backup, the normal procedure in Bisq is to close Bisq and then delete the Bisq directory with al its folders and files, and then to copy the backup over there. But Start9 does not allow to navigate the directories inside the system, how can the restore be done?

You should follow normal StartOS backup/recovery flow. If you have Bisq installed first you need to Bisq > Action > Unintsall. Then System > Restore from backup. Choose your share target and service you need to restore. Thats it.
