White Screen of Death When Game On 2.6.2 is activated #134
Comments
Are you using a standard WordPress install or multisite? If the latter, that's the problem. Game On does not work with WPMS. Have you tested Game On with other plugins turned off and a base theme (2017, 16, 15, etc.) active? If not, try that to test if there's a conflict. If GO works with your theme and plugins turned off, begin activating other elements one by one and test to discover the conflict. I hope that helps. |
Blue Host with standard one-click WP install—not using multisite. I tested Game On with all other plugins turned off and using 2014 base theme (was the default). If I delete the plugin and reinstall, will it preserve my content and settings and bring it all back once I reinstall? Should I try an older version (e.g., 2.5.6) since I am using quest chains, and will that affect content and settings upon reinstall and reactivation? Thanks for any help... |
Give 2.5.6 a try. No, it won't affect existing data. Try that first. There's an outside chance the database is corrupt. Though I can't remember anyone reporting that. |
From the AEE site: One answer I'm sure of, you'll not lose quests or data by deactivating, deleting, and reinstalling Game On. (That's how we all update or roll back.) |
Thanks--will try. Much appreciated! |
I installed v2.6.2 and created many quests, quest chains, added users, and began using the site. Suddenly, I can no longer login to the admin panel for my site. When I deactivate the plugins manually through cPanel, the site works. The minute I reactivate GameOn, I cannot login.
Not sure if this is a bug or not, but I don't want to lose my work--what can be done?
