My ideal UX would involve drawing a new icon on the map (which might make this impossible since I don't think I've seen anything other than maneuver nodes, SOI changes, Ap, Pe, etc icons from the base game drawn on the trajectory) roughly at the altitude and location of the atmospheric entry and then hanging off a WarpTo icon on it. Clearly you can mutate an icon from the base game to create the Warp To SOI button, but could you drop a new icon on it?
