Release v0.9.2
This release addresses some possible power-on related startup issues (although intervention may still be required, see the wiki for details), and removes code that was depreciated in Home Assistant 2022.5.
Wiki: Power Failure Recovery
- Raise error if device type is not found (PR #12)
- 2022.5 remove depreciated constants (PR #3 and #13)
Starting with release v0.9.2, Home Assistant 2022.5 or higher is required.
Release v0.9.1
This release adds handling for connection issues during setup, and reloads the integration if the connection to the packet server is lost while running.
- Improved connection handling (PR #11)
Release v0.9.0
This is the first release for the tekmar-482 integration.
Known limitations and issues:
- Must be manually reloaded if connection to tekmar-packetserv is lost.
- Home Assistant's rounding doesn't always match Tekmar's rounding; setpoints are sometimes a degree off.
- Setpoint 161 only tested in mode 1.
- Snowmelt control doesn't have any entities yet (have one to test but haven't hooked it up yet).
- Not tested against older hardware that wasn't available to buy in the year 2021-2022.
In the future we will submit to be in HAC default once the logo check is resolved.
Note from the author
It's happening! The first release is here, thank you for your patience.
This is my first attempt at writing an Home Assistant integration from scratch and also my first project in Python, so there are still things that need to be done and improvements to be made. Because it's taken a while to get here I decided to release it with its shortcomings, but probably on only the disconnect one will be noticeable for most people. In the meantime, I added a "hearbeat" entity so you can detect if the integration has lost its connection.
Please try it and I hope it works for you as well as it's been working for me. I've based my house around Tekmar thermostats in part because they're one of very few with an expansive system that has a local interface (I'm not interested in cloud stuff) so I'm an end user as well as the developer.
