I'm looking for a way to compare file systems after a migration from on prem fileshares into SharePoint online sites. I've found there are ways to get get list of files from SharePoint online via PowerShell... but I was wondering if anyone has ever thought about putting this as a plugin to WinMerge. I would also be interested in hearing how others would do this comparison. I'm only looking at modification date and size as the comparison keys.
I have tried using OneDrive to sync the Sharepoint site down to a workstation.. and then use WinMerge to compare that tree -vs- the local on prem fileshare. That fell apart when there were too many files in a Sharepoint site, OneDrive gave up and stopped syncing because of the number of files.
