Manual entry of fractional figures a bit rough

Let's assume you have earned $0.01 in interest on an account and you need to enter that "activity" manually. When you attempt to type .01 in the "Interest Amount" field, the first character that will be recognized is the 0 character. This means you must type 0.01 to record the figure. It would be easier if the field recognize .01 as valid.
