Navigation — Track our work

We started work on Navigation in January 2024. After 8 cycles of work (3 weeks + 1 week reflection each cycle), we shipped an 'agile version' of our Navigation proposal.

The GOV.UK Design System iterated the contribution model back in May 2023, this work pulled upon the activities, team members, review and timescales suggested in the model.

What makes this an 'agile version'?

We are not retiring any of the old navigation and service name elements from the existing header component.

Our proposal has:

• changed the GOV.UK header component guidance
• added a Service navigation component
• added a Help users to navigate a service pattern
