Notes

  • @thulieblack provided a deeper dive into the volunteer recruitment efforts for the upcoming AsyncAPI on Tour 2024, which will be held online. This initiative is crucial for the success of the event, and we're actively seeking volunteers to contribute to various aspects of the tour.

  • @AceTheCreator brought up the challenges associated with the GSoC mentors summit, particularly the difficulties in ensuring a mentor can attend the summit in the US. This is an important opportunity for mentorship and networking, and we're exploring solutions to make participation feasible.

  • @akshatnema updated us on the website migration project, noting that it's nearing completion. This has been a significant undertaking, and the progress made so far is encouraging. The completion of this migration will greatly enhance our online presence and accessibility.

  • @thulieblack also shared the latest from the conference working group, including significant progress and upcoming plans. For more detailed information, you can check out the provided link https://github.com/orgs/asyncapi/projects/43/views/2?pane=issue&itemId=60878610.

  • In addition, @thulieblack showcased the Helsinki speakers card, which was creatively designed by @Mayaleeeee. This is just one example of the incredible talent within our community and the collaborative effort going into making our events memorable.

  • Lastly, @derberg discussed his intention to close down the swag store. Despite its popularity, the logistical and financial challenges of managing our own merchandise have proven to be too great. This decision was not made lightly, and we're exploring alternative ways to offer swag to our community.
