I want to have a settings page from where I can customize the app to my own use
The Settings page can contain:
Content language
Dark/Light mode
Font size setting
About section with Copyright and Contact
...
The current solution lets you customize the font size from the book content menu and the theme mode and the content language from the topbar.
Ideally it would have all these settings together. Since you change these settings quite rarely, a Settings page/modal can be a good solution.
The bible app and iBooks, for example, have an Aa icon on the reader from where you can adjust different settings.
Because we also have the title of the book in the topbar, we don't have so much space left.
A combination between useful UI (not too many options and settings here and there) and pleasant UX (easier, quicker to find the look you like), can be a bottom modal which represents the Settings/Profile page from where you can change these settings.
