Sync Issues with Hardware Wallet

I am able to connect my hardware wallet (ledger nano s) using the provided fix.
However, when I am syncing my wallet (it was created about 1 1/2 years ago) I get following error

WalletState Hardware wallet disconnected, will try reconnection after some delay, err=Hardware wallet just disconnected sendApdu error send_result=2 sw=28482

I noticed that this happens exactly at the block (more specifically:one block before) where I was adding my coins to my wallet. So once the syncing process reaches the block on which it received coins, this error message occurs and the syncing process stops. Is this issue known and is there a fix to it?
