When running the gui, how do we change the data directory from something other than ~/Library/Application Support/bytecoin/?

@pingram3541 Currently GUI does not support changing data folder path opened by default: It always opens a predefined path on each OS. We are brooding about how to make this more user-friendly.

Ok thanks, without a new remote node to use, if one needs to choose a path with plenty of storage space, it would be extremely useful if it could be done via the gui, but my band-aid was to load the wallet on a VM directly running on the desired drive.

Hi
You can try this...
https://bytecoin.ninja/2017/08/01/move-wallet-files-on-windows/

On Linux is also possible to make symbolic link
ln -s ../dirAondifferentdrive dirA

Hi,

I would like to know if someone can help me change the data directory on Ubuntu, I had have try but nothing, I always receive this message "Wallet just crashed. Process crashed. Return code 6" and the wallet show this

Exception in main() - Data folder must exist
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::runtime_error'
what(): Data folder must exist

I already try a symbolinc link but seems not to work.

This is the parameter I use "
--data-folder /media/user_name/external_disk/" or
--data-folder=</media/user_name/external_disk/>

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Hello.

Any chance this has been resolved. This is the main reason why more people don't try BCN.

Tools> Wallet Daemon parameters

--data-folder=
ok, thanks for your answer, but my wallet dont have "tools options" ... so .. that parameter is useless to me. I know you talking about linux ver... but i have windows gui wallet
I can configure this parameter on any other crypto wallet, but not with BCN º~º...it is really annoying
