Muzzle App not Deactivating #88
Comments
I'm seeing this using Google Meet in Firefox. Muzzle activates as soon as I start screen sharing, but doesn't deactivate when I stop sharing by any method. Muzzle works fine in Chrome for me. Firefox: 84.0.1 (64-bit) Repro:

I have the same issue, which I suspect might be related to #84 Chrome: Version 87.0.4280.88 (x86_64) I'd be keen to try with the older release of Muzzle, just to confirm if it's related to this recent change or not if @bdkjones is keen to share a link to some kind of archives. |
Same issue: Chrome: Version 87.0.4280.141 (Official Build) (x86_64) |
Good news! I finally found a way to download older releases of Muzzle. On my setup, everything work as expected with For those who want to give it a shot, the archives of the older releases are directly available from Muzzle's servers:
ps. If someone who has the same issue on Big Sur can try and share an update, it would be terrific! cc @juanmrad @bizob2828 |
@stang it won't for my use case. I'm running Big Sur and 1.7 build 405 fixed a previously logged issue I was experiencing and 1.6 is big sur support. |
Weirdly today I noticed this issue has gone away. I have the same versions as above:

I do still experience it. sadly :( |
Sorry to hear — hopefully, it would help those who are still running on Catalina! |
I have experienced this issue twice. I'm not sure how to reproduce though. Chrome: Version 88.0.4324.96 (Official Build) (x86_64) |

I'm also seeing this on Big Sur / Muzzle 1.7 with the Zoom native app, but it's intermittent; sometimes it deactivates, sometimes it doesn't |
I'm seeing this on MacOS Monterey 12.1 / Muzzle 1.9 |
still happening in Sonoma / Muzzle 1.9. Looks like this project is no longer under maintenance and there are no good alternatives around :-| |
update from this project's author: looks like Muzzle is no longer needed!
|
I couldn't find anything about this for MacOS Sonoma. Anyone that knows how this can be achieved, please do advise here. Thanks! |
There’s nothing to do. Silencing notifications when sharing the screen is enabled by default on Sonoma. On Apr 30, 2024, at 13:06, Jonathan Chiocchio ***@***.***> wrote:

Muzzle is baked into macOS since Monterrey. Sonoma will already silence notifications when screen sharing begins.

The app works perfect on both hangouts and zoom shares ( or at least for the most part ). It does activate the do not disturb. sometimes not immediately, but it does the job.
The problem is that after the finish sharing it is not deactivating the do not disturb which is causing my notifications to just stop altogether.
I'm using Mac Big Sur 11.1
Muzzle App 1.7
