Hey, so I've went through all the requirements for setting up Muzzle, however when screen sharing, do not disturb doesn't activate and desktop notifications still come through. I can't tell if this was present on previous versions of macOS because I just downloaded it recently. For some reason, zoom's native 'silence notifications while screen sharing' doesn't seem to be working as well. My menu bar is not set to auto hide, for that matter.

Are you sure you’re sharing the screen? I get a TON of people who think Muzzle kicks in whenever they start a video chat.

Absolutely certain. I tried it again today just to be sure and do not disturb did not turn on automatically when I started screen sharing.

Okay, 11.5 isn't officially out yet and I can't blow up my development Mac with a beta; I have enough bugs in Apple's released software.

Please post a photo of your menubar as it appears in 11.5

I'm actually seeing the same behaviour in MacOS 11.4. I screenshare daily on a call with my team and notifications still show up.

What do you need from me to better diagnose this?

Thanks.

I'm having a funny issue with Muzzle and Zoom:

  • I've followed the Muzzle instructions regarding Zoom's DND toggling
  • DND does enable/disable when screen sharing
  • Weirdness: When screen sharing is engaged, the notification center/widget panel is opened, showing off all of my embarrassing notifications.

Just read in another ticket this is a macOS bug.

For some time now, Muzzle hasn't been automatically turning off notifications when screensharing in Zoom. I'm on Mac OS 10.15.7. Yes, I am sure this is when screensharing rather than just joining a meeting.

Did you follow the directions Muzzle displayed to turn off Zoom’s DND toggling?

Not sure. Where do I find these directions again? But here are my Zoom settings:

Here's my menu bar in case that's helpful (as you asked someone else in the thread).
