Expired Certification Reminder

Hi Carlos,

In addition to New certificate Expiry Date field (see issue #102), I was wondering if it might also be possible to have a reminder be automatically be sent out before certifications expire.

Two additional fields would be required when configuring the settings for a particular certificate:

1. Email - WYSIWYG text field where administrator could compose a message specifically for the certificate. This would make it generic enough so that folks could put whatever text they wanted in it.

2. Number of days before expiry: This would specify when the emails would be scheduled to be sent out, zero being don't send a reminder.

Sample Scenario

Upon completion of a certification course for Safety in babysitting, the student is awarded a certification which is valid for a period of 2 years. 30 days before the expiry of the certificate, Moodle would send out an email reminding the student that their certification is about to expire. The email may also include a link to take them back to the course where they could get re-certified.

Unfortunately no. My client ended up modifying the code for the Certificate plugin (not Simple Certificate). For more information, contact http://www.instruxmedia.com and ask about them about their custom version of Certificate plugin for Moodle.

Hi everyone,

it is hard to believe there is no free/opensource plugin. I’m looking for the exactly the same solution.
I have a course which must be taken every 2 years. I need to make certificate/course passed will expire in 2 years, so student should take the course after that period again. Sure, it's more fit in to a commercial/business area then aschool area, but Moodle is going in that way too, I guess.
