I keep getting a "file not found" error when I try to use previously used files for both my database and key file with my LG G5. I have to manually select them from the file browser every time in order for my database to open successfully.

Same issue. Sony Xperia Z3 Compact, running Marshmallow 6.0.1. My database is on my SD Card, and I'm using BitTorrent Sync to keep it synchronized with several different places. Whenever I start Keepassdroid, I have to push 'back' and then the folder icon to tell it where the file is. The path I get when I do this is:

content://com.android.externalstorage.documents/document/exfat_uuid%3ABitTorrent%20Sync%2FKeepass%20Database%2FPasswordDatabase.kdbx

The file location in human terms is:

SDcard:\BitTorrent Sync\Keepass Database\PasswordDatabase.kdbx

When I restart Keepassdroid, it remembers where the file is, but can't open it until I push the folder icon again and tell it where the file is again. Has been a problem since I upgraded to Marshmallow.

My LG G5 also runs Marshmallow. Looks like this issue is specific to this version of Android OS.

I can only use previously entered files on my HTC One M8 when I turn on Storage Access Framework in the application settings. I'm also using Marshmallow.
