I've tried booting from USB with all the distros (Ubuntu, Fedora and Arch) and they all get me a black screen that never goes away (tried waiting more than 10 mins).
This is the output of journalctl --file=/mnt/chromeos/USB Drive/var/log/journal/*/*.journal | grep amdgpu after trying to boot from the USB:
