Hi @chronofanz

i've just spotted that your Enhanced Disctrict Services had ben marked as incompatible at Steam.

Reason: Issue with importing since the last update to the mod. It's been causing a bunch of headaches for a lot of players.

Maybe it is possible you do an update to solve the issue and get rid of the 'incompatible' flag...

Sorry to rush in here via GitHub Issue, but it seems that we have a slight issue with EDS on Steam. The moderating community has flagged EDS as “incompatible for Cities Skylines” due to the issue with the Import cutting the Industry down, once city size reaches a certain trade volume. The experienced players know what to do, but the rest of the users are overwhelmed not knowing what to do and -seems to be- claiming towards the moderators, which had to help out. We already spoke to them and they do not want to unflag due to the issues with Imports at one point in time.

Comment so far was “As reported by Avanya, it interferes with the import of goods. She's helped several people where it was the root cause. There is an older version that still works. The latest update by the author added new features, but created issues with importing. Players kept recommending the mod, so she marked it as "incompatible" to avoid more people from subscribing.».

It is even hard for us to convince them, so now the question goes out to you, if there is a chance that you fix the Import by eg. increasing the numbers on Global Outgoing Setting (the top one) to at least between 600 and 1000. For most users, this fixes the issues. Unfortunately we (-> some modders here) cannot take over and release a new version with that fix to all users, as you own this one. Maybe you could consider to add 1-2 persons for potential updates, eg. me or Chameleon (https://steamcommunity.com/id/chameleonlifede/) or LemonsterOG (https://steamcommunity.com/id/chameleonlifede/) – what we then would try to compile a new release with the 600-700 threshold as default.

Obviously we would prefer an update directly from the creator, but I know you may still have less time for that.

Thanks a lot for some feedback, we really try to keep this one alive.

Hi @chameleon-tbn and @CityGecko ,

Sorry for not keeping up to date with these developments! I've compiled a new release with the 600 threshold as default and fixed a bug where previously this high setting might cause a lot of cargo planes/trains/ships from spawning ... there is now some good control on the amount of cargo vehicles.

Would you mind testing this new version and verify that your games are still running well? Instructions as follows:

  1. Download the zip

EDS1022.zip

  1. Goto folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\255710\1922400472 and backup the current EDS dll (i.e. rename EnhancedDistrictServices.dll to EnhancedDistrictServices.bak)

  2. unzip the downloaded zip file into C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\255710\1922400472

Let me know how it goes and if the test goes well, I'll go ahead and republish the mod? (I guess I can still do this, even though the mod has been tagged as incompatible?)

Regarding to the Test on my system it looks good in case Real Time Mod is not used and if More Effective Transport Manager is active the 'Enable ability to customize industries supply chain' must be disabled. Maybe you can build this in.

Besides that i've just seen that i can't select boats at fishing harbours.

I played before with Real Time Mod and it seems to make issues with EDS, but RT is secondary for me. More Effective Transport Manager is causing more trouble, suggest to put a comment, that it is incompatibel to EDS and must not be used or as Chameleon suggested, deactivate the Supply Chain. (of course user can reactivate it at own risk)

Taxi is still broken, the Taxi depot does not no for locations, if not specified in the Depot. Same for hearses. - maybe you could quickfix these two as well ?

Thanks for having it fixed up to here now! Chaemelon is already talking to the Moderators for unflagging....

Thanks @CityGecko, it is fantastic how you + team have been handling the public relations and other administrative aspects for this mod. Perhaps this event marks an opportunity for a transition - Would you be interested in owning publishing the mod? If so, how should we best proceed? I will still be happy to maintain (and update) the mod via GitHub and send you the dlls.

Hi Paul, sure we can do that. I would also include LemonsterOG, as he is very active in the user community and it would be helpful having him aboard for the Community Service. You could add us as "Contributors", so that we have access to work on that.

Whatever we do, it should be avoided to get forks or so. Maybe you also could consider to extent the contributors on the the GitHub as well, so if required, information could be added by us here too.

For compiling at least I have here the VC# Community Edition on my Windows machine running, so in worst cases I can try for compilation as well.

fyi, Avanja / Community Moderator told me, that the "Incompatible Flag" will go away, once a new version is loaded automativally.

Normally this should happen - but sometimes it do not - in case of that please inform @CityGecko or me and we will contact Avanya to remove the flag...

Got feedback from LemonsterOG, that all his issues are gone too. I think ithe update can be uploaded :)

Hi! I'm not sure if it's okay to leave my feedback here, but here I go:

  1. I found this weird issue with strings. This only happens if you open the options menu while you're on the main screen.
    bug 1

  2. I haven't had any issues with Deathcare. This is something I had a problem with in the past.

  3. Taxis are still an issue. If the user doesn't set a district, the "All local Areas" option doesn't work properly, which causes taxis to not spawn.

  4. The mod now, works correctly with population above 80k. With the previous version, once you reached that number, the game started to struggle with the spawning behaviour (something that wasn't a problem before) Suggestion: Here, I think that a clarification must be made on how the game is not able to handle properly services due to the vehicles cap. I've seen a lot people with 300k or 500k cities complaining on how this mod "ruined" their services. Maybe, you could recommend the "More Vehicles" mod.

  5. Cargo stations work better for importing and exporting. With the previous version of this mod in my game, cargo vehicles from factories of the industries DLC could have a cargo station right next to them, and they prefered to export via highway. It always got in my nerves since it left my local production out of raw materials. **Suggestion: ** It is still common that sometimes, a lot of cargo trucks leave warehouses simultaneously to export, I think here an option to also reserve some part of the trucks for local deliveries would be a lifesaver!

  6. A key issue still can be found: With this mod on, Exportations drop dramatically. At least, that's what the statistic on the game shows. It was maybe, the second biggest complain about this mod and actually, it affects how much money you can make from industry. I used this mod on an old and new save game, and I saw my exportations dropped from 30000 to barely 1000 in the old savegame. If this doesn't affect the game, maybe a really big explanation should be given to the user on the Steam page of the mod. Tons of people always report it,.

And well, I guess that's it. This version worked great on my end. Thank you so much for developing this mod!
