Text in game does not switch languages correctly

Describe the bug

When switching from Spanish to English, the text in the game page remains in Spanish despite clicking on the ?lang=en link.

What browser(s) did you see this problem on?

Reproduction

1. Open the Spanish version of the game and ensure that the language cookie has been set properly by playing through the game
2. Close the tab, then open the English version of the game via the link vidamigrante.migration.mit.edu?lang=en
3. Navigate to the /game route by clicking through the landing page as normal
