Could tips affect wage for "Restaurant Waiter" occupation?

Really minor question, but is tipping culture prevalent in Ecuador such that the wage could be higher/lower? A few people during the user study picked restaurant waiter because they thought that they could earn tips on the job, making this job the most favorable out of all of the other available options. Some even asked what tipping culture is like in Ecuador.
