entering text insert mode and changing back to select mode makes me unable to select #6152

Somehow switching back out of text editing mode causes the canvas to get stuck. Two repro case w/ gif each, below

STR1

new default project
click on text button in toolbar
click on select mode in toolbar
observed: mouse pointer noop (and missing icon in toolbar but that's not important right now)
expected: idk i can select again i guess

STR2

new default project
click on text, click on insert, click back to select, click on select again
now stuck in this failing mode
