Does Alpine Linux support floppy disks?

I am using Alpine with p9 filesystem. On top of that, I have to supply the OS with a bunch of files (source code, the purpose of OS is to compile code in a browser).

Came across #824 was able to generate a floppy image, but... alpine doens't do anything when mounted.

I have hopped around some OSes from copy.sh and found only windows 3.0 and windows NT loads the sample floppy image f11.zip (it contains hello.txt with words hello in it).

What are my options? I don't want to switch from p9 FS, but floppy doesn't seem to work. Am I limited to sending files thru serial console somehow?

Did you load module for the floppy before mounting?

$ modprobe floppy

I haven't tested on Alpine, but the floppy drive works on TinyCore 11.0 for me.

Looks like some component is still missing. Did I miss to init V86 properly, or chose the wrong BIOS?

Looking at your dmesg, the floppy drive has been initialized and recognizes your floppy, what happens if you try to mount floppy disk?

$ mount -t vfat /dev/fd0 /mnt/ # for FAT12 images

Thanks, looks like standard FROM docker.io/i386/alpine:3.21.0 Docker-built Alpine which is later split into rootfs-flat flacks that functionality on identical emulator. But your image on same emulator works. So I need to tweak the Dockerfile to build an image that does work.
