If you are managing routes in the control panel you have two options: create and use a route, or to not have it at all. There are times when it would be nice to be able to deactivate a route to test some other approach or functionality (or just see what happens when it doesn't exist). This can be easily managed use a file based approach (comment out the route) but it would be nice to have this as an option in the Control Panel as well.
