Hi, @yk699—I imagine it's quite likely that you've found other interesting research to do in the intervening time, but I'm starting to look for some possible collaborators on a project about genomics processing. To be totally transparent, I originally tried recruiting MEng students at the beginning of the semester and got no bites—but I did write up this description of where we're going: Anyway, you can obviously ignore the MEng-related stuff in there. Any chance this might appeal? If not, no big deal—I'm sure there will be other projects available sometime soon. Let me know if you're interested and we can chat. |
Hi @yk699 ! If you're still looking for research projects in our lab, I'm looking for undergraduate researchers to collaborate on research involving profilers for accelerator design languages in Spring 2025. Here's a description of the overarching research along with two project ideas: https://capra.cs.cornell.edu/notes/profiling-ugrad.html Please let me know if you are interested, and we can chat more! You can reply here, or email me at [email protected]. |
Hi Yorihiro,
Thank you for reaching out and sharing these fascinating research
opportunities. I’ve reviewed the description, and both projects sound
incredibly engaging. I am particularly drawn to Project 2: Profiler Case
Studies because it aligns closely with my interests, especially as it
involves optimization and data-driven insights, which are areas I’m
passionate about exploring further.
As an Electrical and Computer Engineering student, I believe my background
provides a solid foundation to contribute to this project. However, I want
to be transparent that I have not taken CS 3110 or CS 3410, nor do I plan
to take them due to my program’s course requirements. That said, I am eager
to learn and adapt. I’m confident in my ability to quickly familiarize
myself with the necessary concepts and tools, and I am excited about the
opportunity to contribute meaningfully to your research.
Thank you for considering me as a potential candidate. Please let me know
if there are any steps I should take to better prepare or any additional
information I can provide.
Best regards,
Yoshiaki Kanematsu

Yoshiaki, Thanks for your interest and email!! Do you have some time to chat this week or next week? I'd like to see if this project is a good fit for you. If you can email me your availability to [email protected], we can take things from there! Also, if you could please read the following paper before we meet, that would be great: https://rachit.pl/files/pubs/calyx.pdf Thanks, |
