%   SIN uses a Universally Unique IDentifier (UUID) to track individual
%   tests and test sequences. This function assigns UUIDs in a
%   semi-intelligent way by ensuring that individual tests receive a UUID

%   allow the user some unimbiguous information to quickly pool results.
