Here are a few items that struct me out of the gate. I've been using tools such as Vim and Emacs for years now and it feels extremely awkward to try to navigate the code in the Darklang GUI. Sometimes boxes won't open and sometimes the UI won't let you add statements above other existing statements. It can be hard at times to add a pipe or a continuation and there are moments when I've had to delete the entire block of code just so that the functionality will work. Another big issue is that it feels like a missed opportunity that there is no text only mode. I get that the UI is what sets Dark apart from its counterparts, but there have been moments when I've felt that dropping into even a minimally featured text editor for each code block (especially larger blocks) would be beneficial. I hope the Blocks will be able to snap to some kind of grid in the future; as it is right now, having many blocks on the screen can be confusing and difficult to manage. Also, wish there was something like a websocket component. This is an absolute must for any kind of realtime web application. Finally, a nice plugin system would also be nice; maybe a means to expand the language and add new custom components would help fill in a few of these gaps.
