The wallet shows a splash screen and immediately terminates. Log entry:

That's it. I tried different command line options to no avail. --help appears to be ignored completely, --debug doesn't yield more log output.
Using --noopengl as suggested on Discord didn't help either.
It might be beneficial to make the GUI wallet work on virtual machines. It might also be beneficial to fix the log messages so that the user can understand what went wrong if the wallet shuts down / cannot start.
