Silence skipping is needed.

1 Create a model of background
2 Cancel background, update model, update threshold.
3 Don't encode if the residual sound level is below threshold

Also you can google a little, there was a lot of research done on the topic.

I think this goes beyond an "easy" recorder. And I do not need this feature at all.
