mt32-pi hat general troubleshooting

Hi, I'm setting up my mt32-pi hat - have a few questions on how I can troubleshoot it-

Although I'm seeing it "boot" (green light activity initially that looks like typical drive access) there's nothing being displayed on the pihat or hdmi.

Should I expect any output via HDMI?
If the pi is booted on its own with the hat - should I see anything on the oled display?
is there any log file i can reference on the sd card?

Thanks in advance.. i've tried a handful of PIs but haven't dug into the SD card yet..

You didn't mention anything about your config file. Did you edit it to enable the OLED? Please follow every step of the setup guide in the README carefully.

Not if you didn't enable the OLED.
