Demands

  • The ban on lethal weapons in educational institutions at all levels
  • The enactment of gun control safety drills in schools
    • Including assailant event training and drills for teachers
  • Thorough and frequent regulation of school police report cards
  • Comprehensive follow up investigations for any allegations of police misconduct in schools
  • The establishment of social work and counseling in schools to prevent the culture of violence
    • Including conflict resolution and mediation programs in city schools
  • Lawmakers' support of the following pieces of gun legislation:
    • Senate Bill 1062
      • Law would ban the possession of a detachable magazine capable of holding more than 10 rounds of ammunition
    • HB-1302
      • "Red Flag Law" that would allow the temporary seizure of firearms from a person who has posed a threat to themselves or others

Code of conduct:

  • Only walk on the sidewalks
  • If police tell you to do something, do not resist; be respectful
  • Organizers are not responsible for anything you do
  • Do not destroy property
  • Do not be violent towards people or property
  • Think about the image we want to portray (i.e. keep in mind it is a peaceful protest)
