- The establishment of social work and counseling in schools to prevent the culture of violence
- Including conflict resolution and mediation programs in city schools
- Lawmakers' support of the following pieces of gun legislation:

- Law would ban the possession of a detachable magazine capable of holding more than 10 rounds of ammunition

- "Red Flag Law" that would allow the temporary seizure of firearms from a person who has posed a threat to themselves or others
