modprobe it87 fails with dmesg message "decompression failed with status 6"

First of all thank you for your work on the kernel module, I can now see my fan speeds.

I had some issues installing it. I could not modprobe the file it87.ko.xz that was installed by make. dmesg showed the error message decompression failed with status 6.

I could fix this by replacing the it87.ko.xz module with the uncompressed it87.ko (+ depmod). Then I could successfully load the uncompressed module it with modprobe it87 ignore_resource_conflict=1.
