App not compatible with NVIDIA shield and possibly Android TV in general

Hi all
The gamesir app doesn't appear to be compatible with NVIDIA shield.
My son tells me that his controller g4 Pro disconnects frequently.
I tried to sideload the gamesir app. When I pressed the connect button in the side loaded app it wouldn't accept any input from the controller.

I had to them uninstall and pair the controller again and it regained connectivity.
