Are bam files required?

Hi there, I'd like to clarify 5.1 Single cell gene expression profile step. Is the input the bam files for our raw data or is the previous step 'curator' supposed to generate bam files? I've run up to the curator step, but not sure how to proceed from here since it's not very clear what the input is. Would really appreciate your guidance!
