System updates downloading slow - configure mirrors? #236
-
Hi, I just installed GeckoLinux Rolling Gnome version. While updating the system, I noticed that my average download speed is hovering around 500 kbps while my typically get anywhere between 10-20 mbps for other downloads. Wiki1 says I shouldnt have to select a mirror by myself, but this speeds doesnt look right. Is there something I can do to fix the speed ? |

Hi there, it's probably just temporary slowness. But try to check which packages are downloading slowly, whether they're coming from openSUSE or from Packman. If Packman is the problem then you can manually change the Packman source to another mirror. But if it's coming from a consistently slow openSUSE mirror then please post on the openSUSE forums or mailinglist about the issue. |
